This paper examines one of the pseudotranslations in Turkey: Nihal Yeginobali's Genç Kizlar. Yeginobali, at the age of 23, could not dare to acknowledge her authorship due to the existing attitudes towards obscenity and authorship in Turkey then, since the novel included a group of young girls' romantic affair with their teacher and translation was highly rewarding. However, when her motives behind her pseudotranslation changed, she revealed the fact having great impact on Turkish chick-lit. © Peter Lang AG, International Academic Publishers, Bern 2018.
